so in case you missed it, some of Rihanna's first interview aired on good morning america today. another part airs on it tomorrow, and the full interview is on 20/20 tomorrow night. i have my own personal views on this story; i obviously have no idea what REALLY happened, how bad any of the [supposed] prior incidents were, or how long this had been going on. all i know is he beat her. not punched her, not pushed her, not flung her off of him: he BEAT her.

and with that said ... i don't care if:

• you think she's talentless,
• stupid,
• or sounds like an alley cat

i especially don't care if:

• "she hit him first",
• she was "stupid" enough to stay,
• or you think she's doing this for publicity.

all i know is that as a woman, she got beat at least one time by the man that she loved. and as a woman in love she stayed. and as crazy as that sounds, all the women that i know that have been in these situations, or verbal/mental abuse situations, have stayed out of "love". [myself included]. yes, it happens, and yes, it sure enough is embarassing. i guarantee she is not the only celebrity that has gone (is going) through this, and i appreciate her speaking, merely as a woman.

so forgetting my personal views on her, and just seeing her speaking as a woman who underwent a horrible domestic violence situation ... i thank her. For opening up and sharing her story, for saying that it's NOT ok, for saying that you CAN get out, for saying how DANGEROUS it is. thank ya RiRi.
