- her music lately all sounds the same to me. her only album that i truly like [as in i like the whole compilation, not just random songs here and there] is Dangerously in Love [as in album #1]. The other 2 have had songs here and there that i like, but in no way can i say i like the album as a whole.
- her songs are "empty". can she make a song that gets stuck in your head, absolutely. does she make music you can dance to, yes. do her songs "say" anything to me ... absolutely not. the majority of her songs [to me] are just beats with words thrown in. the ONLY beyonce song that i've ever felt something from hearing, identified with, and said wow, is "woman like me" for the pink panther soundtrack. that's it.
- i find her herself slightly annoying. obviously i'm basing this on very superficial grounds ... i don't know her and probably never will. she's done notable things like her little taylor swift moment, but essentially i find her annoying.
BUT
despite of all of these things i won't deny that my ass JUMPED off from my seat when alicia yelled BEYONCE at her concert and this broad strutted out. i give credit where credit is due and regardless of why i don't like her, the woman is a performer, and an incredible one at that. tiny dress on, legs out, 4 inch heels, STRUTTING down a flight of steps while hair flowing: amazing. while i would never pay to see only beyonce in concert, i have actually seen her years ago when she did the ladies tour with a.keys and missy and from that day i've known that i may dislike her, but that woman can put on a show.
sigh
more on the actual concert later. the adrenaline is fading and i'm getting sleepy. let's jus say it was amazing and i'm sad i didn't have my camera to record; hopefully i can find the whole empire state of mind performance.
oh a.keys ... i heart you so!
